Paul Dombey, the wealthy owner of the shipping company of the book’s title, dreams to have a son to continue his business. When his wife actually gives birth to a boy, his desire seems to come true. But soon after the birth of his son, everything develops differently. It seems that his son will not be able to fulfill his father’s expectations…



"Dombey and Son" is a novel by Charles Dickens (1812-1870), published in monthly parts from 1 October 1846 to 1 April 1848 and in one volume in 1848. Its full title is "Dealings with the Firm of Dombey and Son: Wholesale, Retail and for Exportation".



This edition is decorated with the beautiful original illustrations by Hablot Knight Browne aka Phiz (1815-1882). The size of the eBook is about 1000 pages.
