The time has come. Numerous enemies are on the march. King Otto II the Brave of Astland is leading his army to the fortress of Chateau Noir - the lynchpin of defense on Vestonia's northern borders.



Marshal Ricardo di Lorenzo, known as the Golden Lion, has begun a lightning campaign in the south, conquering the cities of Southern Bergonia in rapid succession and broadening the invasion's front with every passing day.



Vintervald's Army has moved out to assault Stonefang, the last fortress still held by one of the rebellious northern clans. New tribes are pouring into the army as it marches. But its final destination is Fog Bay, where a squadron of ships is already waiting to ferry Princess Astrid's army across to the western shores of Vestonia.



King Olgerd III of Claron is assembling his forces near Bergonia's eastern border, waiting for an opportunity to move into the north of that unfortunate country. And when he does, his legions will quickly be in position to reach the Sapphire Citadel.



As the Kings move their armies around the board, Max is preparing to leave the capital and settle some old debts. From there, his path will take him back to his Margraviate, where he will lead resistance against the coming storm.
