Families and Fortunes
After the brutal killing of their nobleman father and the pillaging of their Highlands castle home, two young girls flee from a secret hiding place in the ruins and ride out into history to start two new dynasties. But in their rush to escape with their lives, they leave behind a hidden treasure. The story of the search for this treasure through the centuries reveals tales of deceit and treachery; murder; travel to foreign lands; lust; and the entwining saga of four families through the ages.
The story has the beginning of a minor Norman lord stealing a bejewelled casket when fleeing the city of Jerusalem at the end of the twelfth when it was captured by Salahudin. This casket was hidden in a Scottish castle one hundred years later when it was pillaged by the crofters and serfs during the uprising under Wallace.
The clue to the whereabouts of this treasure was found some four hundred years later on the back of a shield in the clutches of a female skeleton but was indecipherable at that time because half the clue was missing. The search for the casket at that time resulted in lust, deceit and death.
It was not until the twentieth century that the skeleton and the clue were once more found leading to the recovery of the casket from its darkest incarceration and its wondrous contents. This was a time of family, love and a hedonistic, prenuptial bachelor party involving seven beautiful escorts from a high class agency and murder.
