For Kathryn Leigh Scott, acting and writing have always been twin pursuits. Like twins, they entered her life moments apart in story-telling and play-acting, sweet reminders of her childhood on a Minnesota farm when she first discovered the pleasure of—and compulsion to—lose herself in expressing creative thoughts on a blank page.

Now in her eighth decade, this collection of short pieces written over the years include essays that have appeared in various publications, including Opera News, The Daily Beast, and in her published books, including The Bunny Years, Last Dance At the Savoy, Now With you, Now Without and Dark Shadows Memories.



Kathryn Leigh Scott is an author and  actress . Kathryn grew up on a farm in Robbinsdale, Minnesota. Upon graduation from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Kathryn landed the ingénue lead in the classic Gothic daytime drama Dark Shadows (ABC, 1966-1971 ), and  starred in the 1971 MGM feature House of Dark Shadows. Kathryn played four roles in the series: Maggie Evans, Josette du Pres, Lady Kitty Hampshire, and Rachel Drummond. Kathryn wrote Dark Shadows Memories to coincide with its 20th anniversary, and Dark Shadows Companion as a 25th anniversary tribute. Her novels include September Girl, Jinxed, Down and Out in Beverly Heels, Dark Passages, and her nonfiction includes Last Dance at the Savoy, Now  With  You, Now Without you, The Bunny Years, as well as editing The Dark Shadows Almanac and many others.
