A family man based in Cheshire, I have been writing seriously for 12 years, both adult fiction and children's books, having worked previously as a lawyer for over 40 years. I speak to primary school children, libraries and other societies and tout my work through open market stalls and shows. Have now written and self-published six books, mostly children's stuff (+ two pending). I have a wife and daughter and two young granddaughters. Author influences are numerous but my favourites are Lewis Carroll, Roald Dahl, Edith Nesbit, C.S.Lewis and J.R. Tolkien and the Bible. My first children's fantasy book- a 'book within a book'- was The Mystery of Cloverdaisy Cottage Part 1 debuted November 2017 for kids between 7-10 years and brilliantly illustrated by Jim Crawley. Mysterious, magical, sad and funny it is also educational and full of love. This wonderful dual story links historical myth and legend with the present day and human life with animal life. The follow up 'Cloverdaisy 2' is now out through mainstream publishers and even more spell binding than the first but links both parts. Again superbly illustrated by Jim it reveals the little - until now- unknown connection between the founder of Vale Royal Abbey- Edward 1 'Longshanks' and the Hammer of the Scots with King Arthur and Camelot!
