ProMosaik Poetry is an open project of ProMosaik Art, which is convinced of the importance of poetry and poetry therapy in a hard time characterized by war, militarization, violence and power narratives.

The main principles:

1. Poetry is not elitist

We speak out in a radical way against any elitist vision of poetry. We are all poets. In the spirit of Audre Lorde in her seminal essay "Poetry is not a luxury". Poetry is a universal form of expression for everyone. Poetry is the voice of those who want to change the world from the bottom.

2. Poetry promotes self-acceptance and social change

Poetry is a creative and emotional language that comes from the soul. It supports the expression of emotions and feelings. Poetry leads to self-knowledge and self-acceptance. You can say whatever in poetry.

3. Poetry is interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary

4. Poetry means dialogue

For ProMosaik Poetry, dialogue means commitment to peace and resistance against all forms of oppression, discrimination, exclusion, racism and colonialism.

In the spirit of the Jewish philosopher Martin Buber, I don't see the "Thou" as an object, but as a subject. Moved into politics, this would then mean that the "Other" is not orientalized in the sense of Edward Said, but recognized as a subject.

5. Poetry is a healing force for the individual and society

For ProMosaik, poetry therapy is an important aspect of poetry.

6. Poetry is political

Poetry opposes unjust regimes, oppression, war, inequality, or political violence.

Poetry is the voice of colonized and oppressed people, political prisoners, freedom fighters, and abused women and children.

7. Poetry is a means to stand up for human rights

Poetry for human rights can be written by poets who ana-lyse and denounce human rights violations. But it can also be the voice of the victims.



Dr. Phil. Milena Rampoldi, 1973 in Bozen geboren, studierte in Italien Theologie, Pädagogik, Philosophie und Orientalistik, um dann in Wien zum Thema der arabophonen Korandidaktik im deutschen Sprachraum zu promovieren. Sie arbeitete als Fremdsprachlehrerin . 2014 gründete sich den Verein ProMosaik e.V. für die interkulturelle Kommunikation (www.promosaik.com). Die Themen ihrer Bücher beziehen sich im Beson-deren auf die islamische Religion, Kultur und Geschichte und auf den islamischen Feminismus und die Menschenrechte. Sie verfolgt mit ihren Texten das Ziel des Dialogs zwischen den Religionen und ist der Überzeugung, dass man durch die Annäherung an die Geschichte auch die Gegenwart besser verstehen kann, um eine Zukunft im Sinne der Gerechtigkeit und des Friedens aufbauen zu können.
