The Body Never Lies
Read the Truth in Thirty Seconds
What if the people around you were telling you the truth every second—and you simply never learned to listen?
Every human interaction runs on two channels at once: the words people choose, and the silent language of the body they can't fully control. In The Body Never Lies, Mateo Salvas reveals how to read the second channel—the one that leaks emotional truth through feet, posture, hands, and the face—so you can understand what's really happening beneath the conversation.
Grounded in the science of Darwin, Ekman, Navarro, and modern neuroscience, this is not a collection of gimmicky "tells." It's a disciplined, honest method for becoming a sharper observer of people—without falling for the myths that make most "lie detection" advice useless.
Inside, you'll discover:
- Why the body reacts before the conscious mind can shape a single word
- How to read the two master signals of comfort and discomfort in any situation
- Why feet, legs, and torso are often more honest than the carefully managed face
- How to spot self-soothing gestures that reveal hidden stress and emotional weight
- The truth about microexpressions, eye contact, and deception—and the popular myths to ignore
- Practical exercises to build your observational muscle for meetings, dates, and interviews
Stop guessing what people mean—start reading the conversation happening beneath their words.
Mateo Salvas is a writer and consultant of Spanish-Argentine background who specializes in decoding the hidden rules by which organizations, markets, and human communities actually operate. He studied cultural anthropology and the behavioral sciences at a leading U.S. university and earned a doctorate in the sociology of organizations. For more than ten years he worked as a field researcher and consultant, observing from the inside how successful entrepreneurs, politicians, artists, negotiators, and executives operate across different countries—which rules they state out loud, and which ones they actually follow. His central thesis is that in any human situation two games are being played at once: the surface game named by the rulebook, and the deep game of real power, incentives, and unwritten rules. Today he runs a private practice for entrepreneurs and executives and writes books about how an adult comes to see the world as it actually is.
