Jacob has always had a thing for vampires, but he never realized how dangerous they can be.

When Jacob Litwin is called to the community in Myrfolk to feed an injured vampire, he jumps at the opportunity. It isn't until it's too late, he realizes there is a difference between a sexy nibble in a dark corner of a nightclub and being handed over to a severely hurt vampire.

Drystan Sorge has lost everything -- his house, his job, everything. He's been beaten black and blue and is out of his mind from pain. His friend manages to get him to the community in Myrfolk in the nick of time. They've left everything behind apart from a bag of clothes and twelve hundred sunflower seedlings. What had he been thinking? Sunflowers aren't the solution to his problems.

The one bright thing in the whole situation is Jacob, the human who agreed to feed him when he first arrived. Too bad Jacob is trying to run away from him. Jacob can't believe how naive he's been. He's always had a thing for vampires, but now his view of them has been shaken. The way Drystan does what he can to take care of him is cute, but he should tell him to stop. Right?
