The Call of Cthulhu (1928) begins when Francis Wayland Thurston discovers among his late uncle's papers a series of disturbing accounts connected to a mysterious creature and an ancient cult with followers scattered across the world. As he pieces together testimonies, dreams, investigations, and seemingly unrelated events, he begins to glimpse a terrifying reality: beneath the fragile surface of the known world lie ancient forces whose very existence defies human reason.



With an oppressive atmosphere and an ever-growing sense of dread, H. P. Lovecraft created one of the foundational tales of cosmic horror. Cthulhu, its most iconic creature, would become one of the most recognizable and influential figures in the modern fantastic imagination.

His work is characterized by ancient and incomprehensible forces, lost civilizations, and a universe in which humanity occupies an insignificant place. Although he received little recognition during his lifetime, works such as The Call of Cthulhu, The Colour Out of Space, The Shadow over Innsmouth, and At the Mountains of Madness had an enormous influence on fantasy and horror literature, establishing him as one of the most influential writers of the genre in the twentieth century.
