When Marlow impulsively buys a house in France for just one euro, she and her daughter Sabine travel abroad in hopes of finding out just how much is involved in the purchase.

What starts out as a quick fix turns into an unforgettable journey, complete with impossible bureaucrats, charming locals, romantic dilemmas, and the rediscovery of their own independence.
