Death does not stop for love. Thanatos has spent eternity ferrying the souls of the dead with quiet devotion, asking nothing for himself, wanting nothing. He is the most dutiful of immortals. He does not falter. He does not fail. Then he meets Elysios, a mortal Egyptian who passes into a different underworld. One Thanatos cannot protect him in.

Elysios was merely hoping for a common life and a gentle afterlife. Then he fell in love with a god. Upon his death, he must not only pass an exhausting trial meant to weight his soul if he is to have a pleasant afterlife, he must balance the gods of two realms, each claiming his soul in a divine collision that could shatter everything he loves.

Can Thanatos and Elysios survive two legions of gods? Will their relationship survive despite existing in different underworlds ruled over by opposing gods?
