When the mysterious Monster Spotter's Handbook is passed down to eleven-year-old Edwin Spook, a brain-boggling world of monsters opens out before him. Following in his grandfather's footsteps, Edwin learns he is the last of the Monster Spotters. But the monster world is under threat from an evil Monster Catcher, who is using his clever tricks to trap four very special monsters – the Oober Beast, the Blogspotter, the Star Statue and the Frozen Yomp – and with them the essence of the monster world: heart, knowledge, trust and soul.
