The present volume of the internationally famous New Testament scholar Wolfgang Stegemann includes texts on central subjects of the biblical theology as Jesus= proclamation of God=s empire, the interpretation of Jesus= death as atoning sacrifice, the role of women and children in the world of the New Testament, spirituality in Paul or to the emergence of Christianity as a >religion<. He refers thereby to contemporary issues, for example to the ethical evaluation of homosexuality, antisemitism and to the relationship between Judaism and Christianity. The author delivers as well contributions with whom the author starts new methodological approaches to the bible.
