The present volume contains reflections on the methodology of church history and contributions on the topic of the reception of the Patristic heritage and the theological tradition of the Middle Ages in Martin Luther's Reformation theology in continuity and competition with the tradition of the church.



Markus Wriedt, Dr. theol., Jahrgang 1958, studierte Theologie und Philosophie in Hamburg, Southampton und München. 1990 promovierte er an der Universität Hamburg, 2005 folgte die Habilitation an der Goethe Universität Frankfurt/M. Seit 2007 hat er die Professur für Kirchengeschichte an der Goethe Universität Frankfurt und der Marquette Universiät, Milwaukee WI inne. Er ist Vorstand des Vereins für Reformationsgeschichte und u.a. Mitglied der Luthergesellschaft e.V.
