Lars Arnold Ritter, M.A., MBA, M.Sc., is an active university lecturer and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Business Informatics. He conducts research on adult education and digital learning systems and is developing his own learning management system with a focus on effective learning processes in everyday professional life. His work combines didactic clarity with technical rigor and addresses areas where learning must be measurable, motivating, and sustainable. He publishes regularly in academic journals and consistently applies current research to real-world practice. Under the name “Studienflüsterer,” he guides students through the decision-making process on social media, maps out educational pathways, and translates complex requirements into clear, actionable steps. His approach centers on providing direction, structure, and practical implementation.

Raik Menzel, M.Sc., is an audio engineer and studio owner. As the founder of NoName Records and operator of the Grind Audio recording studio, he has been overseeing productions—from recording to the final master—for over ten years. He is known for making clear decisions in the mix, ensuring clean technical execution, and delivering results that sound consistent across different playback sources. In addition to his studio work, he produces funded music and audio projects with young people, bringing professional standards to practical work. He also publishes technical articles on audio engineering on open-access platforms and advocates for free access to well-founded expertise.

Daniel Müller, M.Sc., is a media and audio expert with more than 20 years of experience in sound engineering, media production, and adult education. He oversees training programs, develops teaching concepts, writes course materials, and serves as managing director of several media companies. His work combines practical production experience in studio, live, and post-production with didactic clarity and reliable processes. He teaches technology in a way that ensures it works in practice and delivers noticeably better results.

This book is a practical guide to music production in the home studio and covers the entire process from the initial recording to a reliable export. In a clear, step-by-step sequence, it explains the fundamental principles of level management, equalization, and dynamics processing; demonstrates the targeted use of reverb, delay, and saturation; and introduces efficient workflows with channel strips that enable quick and confident decision-making. Special emphasis is placed on properly set up and calibrated monitoring, which serves as the foundation for consistent sonic evaluations.

The book covers the clean recording of vocals, guitar, and bass in small rooms as well as the musical programming of MIDI. Vocals are carefully refined, with timing, intonation, and expression specifically optimized without losing their natural character. Analyzers, loudness measurement, and true-peak control ensure reliable results across different playback systems and streaming platforms. A dedicated troubleshooting chapter provides a systematic approach to typical problems such as noise, hum, phase errors, clicks, or latency.
