Maria is a mother, writer and holistic practitioner from South Wales. She is a fan of witty, warm, relatable and honest stories. She is also a fan of curious conversations, astrology and anything that gets the mind and heart opening to new possibilities.

Maria studied Creative and Professional Writing at The University of South Wales, where she graduated with a First and was awarded the Stella Levi Prize for Academic Excellence.

She has been awarded a bursary from Literature Wales, and was one of 15 writers selected for the inaugural Curtis Brown Creative novel-writing course.

She is also a qualified teacher and therapist.

As a working-class woman from a background in the care system, being able to achieve these goals and write professionally has been a true gift in life, and Maria is a passionate advocate and supporter of creatives from marginalised communities.
